Morphologic Description:

    Otolith shape: pyriform;
    Posterior margin: notched and sharply pointed;
    Ventral margin: slightly curved;
    Crista inferior: ridge-like under posterior ostium, and cauda enveloping ventral depression;
    Crista superior: poorly developed over posterior ostium only, becomes well developed over cauda and foreshortened;
    Collum: absent;
    Ostio-caudal differentiation: dorso-ventrally constricted;
    Cauda: deeper and flares posteriorly, colliculum narrow and high, flaring at tip;
    Ostium: walls poorly defined, colliculum oval to penetrate anterior margin;
    Pseudocolliculum: absent;
    Colliculum: heteromorph;
    Excisura: absent;
    Antirostrum: absent;
    Rostrum: small and sharply rounded;
    Ventral depression: within crista;
    Dorsal depression: absent;
    Sulcus acusticus: caudal, but may ostio-caudal, heterosulcoid;
