SEM Photograph: (Borne and Cronin, ms, pl. 3, fig. 5) Scale is 0.05 mm. (Locality CJ89-35-01: Santa Eduviges Subdivision, Límon Province, Costa Rica; Moin Formation). Left valve, female.

Morphologic Description: A small species with well-developed subcentral tubercle and nodes at termination of dorsal and ventral ridges. Greatest width at subcentral tubercle (Bold, 1988).

Holotype: FGS S 5206 (Bahia Honda, Florida Keys, Recent).

Distribution:

• Upper Miocene to Recent: Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico. In Belize it favors the shallow turbulent waters of the reef flat (Teeter, 1975).
