SEM Photograph: (Bold, 1988, pl. 10, fig. 2) Scale is 0.06 mm. Specimen HVH 10648 (NMB Locality 16973: Río Cana, Dominican Republic; Gurabo Formation). Right valve. Height: 0.16 mm; width: 0.18 mm; length: 0.33 mm.

Morphologic Description: A small species with a narrow, pointed ala, which has a large spine on its posterior side and a small notch just anterior to the point of the ala.

Holotype: HVH 10645 (Locality: NMB 15978, Río Gurabo, Gurabo Formation) .

Distribution:

• Upper Miocene to Pleistocene: Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica.
• Recent: Gulf of Mexico (?).
