SEM Photograph: (Bold, 1988, pl. 2, fig. 1) Scale is 0.15 mm. Specimen HVH 10499 (NMB Locality 16186: Río Gurabo, Cercado Formation). Left valve, female. Height: 0.48 mm; length: 0.76 mm.

Morphologic Description: Carapace subrectangular to subovate; subdorsal median sulcus; rounded pits, smaller in anterior part of carapace; fairly strong sexual dimorphism; no nodose carapaces observed.

Holotype: HVH 2071 (Locality: Shell Sluff, Chicksaswhy River, Mississippi, Pascagoula Formation, Miocene).

Distribution:

• Middle to Upper Miocene: Caribbean, Gulf Coast.
