Morphologic Description: protoconch 1 3/4 to 3 1/2 volutions; sculpture on early teleoconch present or absent; axial sculpture predominant; parietal ridge present; posterior canal present; thickness outer lip moderate to strong; outer lip extended adapically; anterior canal recurved; dorsal hump absent to prominent; hump to the left of aperture absent to prominent. Mainly a fossil genus; only 3 living species, all in the Eastern Pacific.

Morphologic Description: protoconch 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 volutions; outer lip protoconch sigmoid or sinusigerous; sculpture on early teleoconch absent; sculpture on late teleoconch absent; dorsal hump weak to prominent; hump to the left of aperture well developed; posterior canal weak; thickness outer lip moderate; outer lip slightly extended adapically; small angle between axis of columella and main shell axis.
