Morphologic Description: cerioid to subplocoid; two septal cycles; bilateral symmetry.

Morphologic Diagnosis: Colony Form: plocoid, subcerioid, or cerioid, Colony Shape: branching or massive or platy, Budding: extramural, Columella: trabecular and discontinuous, Corallite Size: small ( < 1.5mm) or medium (1.5 - 10mm), Wall Structure: synapticulothecal, Lobes: paliform.

I. Porites with widely spaced calices and a well-developed wall reticulum.




II. Porites with narrowly spaced calices and a poorly developed wall reticulum.
